Dazzling Canyons of the Southwest

The Trip

From the spectacle and drama of the Grand Canyon to exploring hundreds of thousands of acres of desert on an UTV to trying your hand at calf roping at a working ranch, your week in the hidden Southwest will be unforgettable. This 8-day itinerary includes visits to Grand Canyon and Bryce Canyon National Parks, as well as visiting lesser-known, but just as beautiful Wire Pass Canyon and the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument.

Starting by enjoying two nights at the exclusive Zion Mountain Ranch, are surrounded by 2,700 acres of high mountain meadows and forests where Zion Mountain Ranch's buffalo herd graze and roam. After two days of privately-guided hiking in Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks, you’ll be transferred to a luxury tented camp on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. More remote and less developed than the South Rim, this camp is a perfect home base for your Grand Canyon exploration. A visit to Wire Pass Canyon delivers an incredible trail towards the famous Buckskin Gulch Gorge, the longest continuous slot canyon in the United States. For the final leg of your journey, you’ll be hosted at the luxurious Amangiri resort, tucked into a protected valley with sweeping views over colorful, stratified desert rock. With Amangiri as your launching pad, you’ll finish the journey with a UTV tour of the beautiful Vermillion Cliffs National Monument followed by a day to unwind on the water during your daylong, private boating and paddling tour on refreshing Lake Powell.

Highlights:

This 8-day exploration of the Canyons of the Southwest begins in St. George, Utah, where you are transferred to luxury at Zion Mountain Ranch, the closest accommodation to the east gate of Zion National Park. You’ll find 2,700 acres of high mountain meadows and forests, viewable from your private patio where you can watch the ranch’s buffalo herd graze and roam.

Two days of scenic, privately-guided hikes in Bryce Canyon National Park and Zion National Park. At Bryce Canyon, you'll spend time in the park’s two largest amphitheaters, hiking into the maze of hoodoos that make Bryce a unique experience. In Zion, delve deep into the geologic story of Zion, human and natural history, and hear and see highlights of many significant moments in the 18 million year timeline of The Narrows

Your trip to the canyons wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the U.S.’s own Wonder of the World - the Grand Canyon. A luxury tented camp on the isolated North Rim awaits you after your day of hiking in Zion. Welcome to your own 150-square-foot custom canvas-walled tent furnished with queen, twin, or bunk beds, soft down comforters, and bedside tables with lamps. You will have fresh towels, private en-suite toilets, hot showers, and meals prepared by your award-winning private chef. Private, daylong hike of the dramatic North Rim of the Grand Canyon.

A trip to the surreal Wire Pass Canyon trailhead where your privately guided hike begins down an incredible trail towards the famous Buckskin Gulch Gorge, the longest continuous slot canyon in the United States, where the sun illuminates the curving sandstone walls extensively, providing ample opportunity for awe and photographs.

The final leg part of your adventure takes you to luxurious Amangiri, where your 1,000-square-foot suite offers sweeping desert views, a king-sized bed, and private fireplace terrace. You’ll be dazzled at Amangiri’s desert escarpment pool, privacy, and commanding view of the valley below.

With Amangiri as your launching pad, you’ll take a private, 2-hour UTV tour of the beautiful Vermillion Cliffs National Monument.

Relax with a day on the water in your privately-chartered boat where you will have 5 hours to explore the slot canyons and hidden coves of Lake Powell. With more coastline than the entire coast of California, Lake Powell is renowned for its geological features formed by the wear of water rushing through rock. When you reach the canyons, you can explore further in open-seat kayaks or stand-up paddle boards.
