Itinerary in brief:
Day 1: Buenos Aires
Welcome to Argentina! Upon arrival in Buenos Aires, an &BEYOND representative will meet you and escort you to your waiting vehicle for the drive to your hotel, Park Hyatt Palacio Duhau.
Days 2-6: Ibera Wetlands
Explore by boat, canoe, sail, on foot and jeep safari the vast Iberá Natural Reserve,one of the largest freshwater reservoirs on the South American continent. It is the largest protected area in Argentina home to a staggering 4,000 plant and animal species. The indigenous communities of the wetlands inhabited the area as early as in the 9th century. They called the place I–Berá “shining waters.” Here, you are introduced to a range of wildlife such as capybaras, various deer species, maned wolf, jaguuar, giant otters and raucous howler monkeys; to name but a few! Overnights at Rincon del Socorro.
Days 6-7: Santiago
Fly from Buenos Aires to Santiago today. Arrive in Santiago, check into the Holiday Inn Santiago Airport Hotel and enjoy an afternoon of rest
Days 7-11: Patagonia
The south of Patagonia is home to Chile’s iconic Parque Nacional Torres del Paine, renowned for its rugged horn-shaped peaks of the Cuernos del Paine and pristine sand-colored lowlands where the huaso countrymen, or baqueano, practice age-old cattle herding traditions.
In the north, enormous ice fields flank brilliant blue glaciers whilst fjords and deep channels usher penguins to their waters. Not only does this breathtaking region feature a rich entanglement of rainforest and mountain ranges that stretch across the horizon, but it is also the official gateway to Antarctica, the earth’s southernmost continent. On your last day in Patagonia, you will be collected for your onward journey to the Lake District.
Days 11-14: Lake District
The utterly spectacular landscape of the Lake District makes this destination a firm favourite of guests traveling to Chile. Breathtaking glacial lakes mirror the frosted tips of dormant volcanoes and the verdant flora of nearby national parks.Quaint villages, such as Pućon perch along the various lake shorelines and offer adventures such as horse riding, hiking, fishing, mountain climbing, nature walks and water sports. Pućon is situated along the shores of the Villarrica Lake, near the active Volcano Villarrica. Traveller’s visiting this destination will be treated to sensational views and landscapes as well as exceptional activities such as the opportunity to hike up the volcano and unwind in a natural hot spring.
