Sardine Run Fun

Nadia travels around the world, writing stories and shooting video and still images for scuba divers and ocean enthusiasts. She leads over 20 expeditions a year, sharing some of her best experiences with those who are keen. Nadia is also an accomplished underwater photographer.
The Sardine Run is an amazing experience — there is nothing quite like it. Most of the Sardine Run is done on snorkel; only when we find a static bait ball do we get in the water with scuba. Seeing an iconic sardine bait ball in crystal-clear conditions with dolphins, sharks, whales and sea birds in a feeding frenzy is, in fact, quite rare. Film crews spend weeks out at sea over the course of a few years in search of the perfect bait ball to get the footage regularly seen on television. Joining our experienced team ensures that you have the best chance of experiencing this remarkable phenomenon.
The base for these exciting days is the N’taba River Lodge and Spa, located in Port St. Johns. We find this to be the best accommodation in the area with a lovely swimming pool and restaurant.
