Anabezi Camp

Located on the banks of the Zambezi River in Zambia, you’ll find the exquisite Anabezi Camp. Its name, derived from the Ana Trees, or Winter Thorns, that surround it, is more than a luxurious camp, but home to all kinds of wildlife.

Attracted by the corn-yellow pods that fall from the trees, you’ll be mere metres away from feasting elephants as they spend long, lazy days by the riverbanks.

The Camp comprises of 11 luxury tents and 1 luxury family suite on raised timber platforms at the edge of a ridge providing magnificent views of both the Zambezi River and Mushika River flood plain. The plain hosts year-round grazing and offers spectacular diverse game viewing from the comfort of your tent!

At the camp, you’ll have a large range of activities to choose from, where excellent guides will regale you with stories of wildlife spottings in past years.

You’ll enjoy some of the finest food passionately designed by the head chef, a fusion of European and African cuisines. From a continental breakfast, to a buffet lunch and high tea full of tasty delights, you’ll end the day with a three-course plated dinner and some of South Africa’s finest wines.

Luxury Tents
Each of the eleven luxury tents has an indoor bathroom and outside shower, in addition to a private plunge pool. With two spacious and comfortable decks boasting views of the Zambezi or the Mushika riverbed and waterhole, there are endless possibilities to relax and enjoy the magic of the river and wildlife.

Family Tent
There is one family unit that is comprised of a Master Tent and a Children’s Tent. The Master tent has an indoor and outdoor bathroom, a spacious sitting area, and a plunge pool set into the expansive wood deck with a stunning view. The Children’s Tent has two single beds with mosquito nets and an outdoor bathroom.

Game Drives
Venture out in the early morning or the late afternoon to witness the glory of the bush. Enjoy a private sundowner watching elephants crossing the mighty Zambezi, or your coffee in the morning in the absolute splendour of the Winterthorn forest after an exciting morning tracking lion.

The wildlife on the river is everchanging, surprising and always exciting. Whether watching a pod of hippos jostle in the afternoon light, or a family of elephant bathing in the mud at the bank, the calm of the Zambezi will flood the soul with the magic of the bush.

With the gentle lap of water against the canoe, the measured peace of slowly drifting down the Zambezi in serene wonder, canoeing gives you the opportunity to see the wildlife along the riverbank at your own pace, guided by an experienced paddler.

Walking Safaris
Encounter the bush at it's best - on foot with our experienced guides, watch as they explain the art of tracking animals from their spoor and listen as they unravel the symbiosis of species that make up the rich tapestry of life in the bush.

With an almost unparalleled species diversity of birds in the Lower Zambezi, there is always something to excite both experienced birders and novices alike.

Whether a keen angler or complete beginner, catching a Tiger Fish is one for the bucket list. With a selection of rods, reels, and all necessary tackle, our coxswains will guide you through the cast, play, landing, and of course the trophy shot before releasing back into the water.
