DumaTau Camp
The brand-new revitalized DumaTau, meaning ‘roar of the lion,’ is an eight tented Premier Camp located in the private Linyanti Wildlife Reserve that borders the western boundary of Chobe National Park. It is situated close to the source of the Savute Channel on Osprey Lagoon, one of the many lagoons within the Linyanti Swamp system, and between two elephant ‘corridors’ – all of which results in a plethora of wildlife on game drives along the Savute.
All seven twin tents and one family unit have a private plunge pool and a comfortable lounge, and feature a large bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers. The main dining and lounge area boasts its own wide-angle vistas overlooking the wildlife-rich lagoon, while a new wellness centre and gym – shared with Little DumaTau – includes an inviting shaded deck, a lap pool, spa, snack deli and trading store. DumaTau runs on 100% solar energy. Spend the night under the vast African sky in the luxurious Star Bed and have a front row seats to the spectacular Zibadianja Lagoon.

Sleep Under the Stars
Discover the magic of a night spent under a crystal-clear African sky. Our elevated Star Beds offer an authentic and unique way to sleep out, surrounded by nature.
With incredible habitat diversity, Linyanti is a haven for wildlife, on land and water. Game viewing and river excursions top the agenda here.
Morning and afternoon game drives reveal the rich wildlife of the area where predators and elephant are often the highlight. Plains game and diverse birdlife also offer fantastic sightings. The open 4x4 Land Rovers each accommodate a maximum of seven people, allowing each guest a ‘window’ seat.
Night drives with spotlights allow you to find those nocturnal animals you wouldn’t see during the day. These often include lesser bushbaby, spring hare, aardwolf, serval, large spotted genet and, if you are extremely lucky, the elusive pangolin!
Depending on qualified guide availability, nature walks with skilled, armed guides are wonderful ways of getting close to nature and observing the smaller things you miss when travelling by vehicle.
There is a hide at camp for those wishing to while away their siesta hour watching the active birdlife of the area, while a raised platform at the Zibalianja Lagoon is the perfect place from which to view and photograph animals and birds. This platform can also be used for an authentic and unique way to sleep out under the crystal clear African skies surrounded by nature.
Explore the Linyanti River by boat or barge, the latter perfect for picnics or sundowners or searching out those elusive birds so prevalent in the channels.
*This activity is water-level dependent.
