Matava

Latitude 10° is not your typical beach resort. It didn’t even start as a hotel. When long-time friends Bob Florsheim and Rick Hughes came to Santa Teresa, what they had in mind was to build a summer hangout on the beach for their nearest and dearest.

The pair sought to create a secret place, hidden from the outside world by lush jungle. A luxury retreat that would co-exist harmoniously with the surrounding nature. At night, guests were to explore the grounds with torches. Casitas were to be illuminated only by flickering candlelight and warm glowing lamps after dark, and completely open during the day. Cobble stone pathways were to intertwine and connect each casita, leading the way through the trees to the heart of the private resort. There, guests would find a space to share stories over dinner, and a pool to cool off in the sun.

Today, it’s a hotel of just 6 luxury rooms and a proud member of the Cayuga Collection. Latitude 10° still preserves that private beach house, pura vida feel too. The resort welcomes guests like old friends and makes sure they feel right at home.

Welcome to this unique romantic hideaway, surfing utopia and boutique beachfront paradise in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica.
