Little Oliver's Camp

In the heart of Tarangire National Park, one of the most magnificent places in Africa for game viewing, Little Oliver’s is perfectly situated to make the most of the spectacular wildlife and landscapes this strikingly unspoiled wilderness area has to offer. Small and very exclusive, Little Oliver’s is just a kilometer downstream from bigger brother, Oliver’s Camp, overlooking a flood plain of the Minyoyo Pools. With just five en-suite tents, the camp is intimate and personal – ideal for small groups or families looking for a totally private safari. Small enough to call your own, and with the Oliver’s highly personal service and experienced guides, Little Oliver’s is simply unbeatable.

Located in a magnificent location deep in Tarangire National Park – one of the most magnificent places in Africa for game viewing – Little Oliver’s is small enough to call your own. Delicious meals and drinks are served under canvas in the spacious dining area at the heart of the camp. While away the afternoon in the separate mess tent – a wonderful spot to sit back, relax and watch the never-ending ebb and flow of wildlife on your doorstep.

Little Oliver's boasts five separate, thatched en suite tents in total, all with fantastic views with king-sized beds with the option of being twins and doubles. One of the tents can be made into a triple on request. Each tent features an indoor and outdoor shower. Bathrooms are en suite with an indoor shower; the outdoor shower offers great views of the surrounding area. The bathrooms are fully plumbed with running water and flush loos. Hot water is always available and provided by solar heaters.

Just like the main Oliver’s Camp, Little Oliver’s offers a breadth of activities almost unheard of in a Tanzanian national park. It is the perfect base for a unique and exhilarating safari experience.

Game drives

Game drives are offered twice daily from Little Oliver’s in open-sided game-viewing vehicles. Our highly skilled guides will share their detailed understanding of this wilderness and all its creatures, both great and small. All vehicles have power points where you can recharge your devices, and are fitted with fridges to keep your drinks deliciously frosty.

Night drives

When darkness falls, enjoy a night game drive and look for the nocturnal animals of Tarangire with a powerful spotlight, or simply turn off the engine and enjoy the stillness of the dark African night.

Walking safaris

The privilege of walking in a national park is an opportunity that cannot be missed. Join a walking safari from Little Oliver’s and learn about wildlife tracks, spoor and the flora and fauna of the area in an unforgettable journey on foot.

Hot-air balloon safaris

There is nothing quite like gliding serenely over the vast plains of the Tarangire as the wildlife teems below, on a romantic and evocative balloon safari. (at an additional cost)

Twende Porini

Twende Porini is our flagship environmental and community programme. Every year a group of children from local communities in the areas surrounding our camps are hosted for five days in one of our camps where they learn about wildlife and the environment. Lessons are combined with games and fun activities, including playing sports, talent shows, and storytelling to help the children learn about sustainable tourism and conservation, and the benefits that these have for them and their families.
