Little Mombo Camp
Rebuilt in 2018, Little Mombo is a celebration of conservation purpose and, together with Mombo, is the spirtual home of the Botswana Rhino Reintroduction Project. It combines luxury and service excellence with the amazing natural splendour that is the Mombo wildlife area.
With just four tents tucked away on the other side of the same island, Little Mombo is a smaller, more intimate version of its sister camp. Built under a shady canopy of jackalberry and sausage trees, overlooking a floodplain regularly visited by herds of herbivores (and their predators), the camp has its own facilities, including a dining area, boma, kitchen, lounge and pool, while being connected to Mombo via a raised boardwalk.
The Mombo Concession is known as the “place of plenty”, highlighted by the massive concentrations of plains game and predators that can be seen. These include all the big cats, of which lion sightings are frequent. You can also expect to see leopard and cheetah, spotted hyaena, large herds of buffalo, elephant, white rhino, giraffe, blue wildebeest, Burchell's zebra and much more. Birdlife is prolific around Mombo with African jacana, pygmy-geese, goliath heron and migrant waders in summer being particularly common.
As its name implies, Little Mombo is an intimate camp of just four tents, each with its own plunge pool, while the main area comprises a dining room, bar and lounge. Little Mombo shares a boutique, spa, gym and lap pool with Mombo. Its design expresses unashamed (but appropriate and sustainable) luxury under canvas.
Game Drives
Game drives via open 4x4 Land Rovers each accommodate a maximum of four guests, allowing each guest a 'window' seat. Please note that as the camp is in Moremi Game Reserve, night drives are not possible at Little Mombo.
