Daku Resort

Upon arrival on Vanua Levu’s Savusavu, leave all your cares behind as you check into Daku Resort. This 3-star property has a relaxed, comfortable vibe. The resort offers 30 rooms with a variety of accommodations ranging from villas with their own pools to simple bures around the main resort pool. The comfortable and large rooms are equipped with a private bathroom, hair dryers, tea and coffee making facilities and offer panoramic views of the pool or the beach. A ceiling fan and a refrigerator can be found in each room of the resort. An internet connection is also provided as well as air-conditioning in most units.  

The on-site restaurant offers everything from gourmet dinners to traditional Fijian dishes to even just a plate of fries for the kids when needed. At dinner, Daku invites everyone to dine together at the resort’s communal table or you may choose a quiet table on your own. Daku’s popular bar serves up drinks ranging from the exotic “Dakuree” cocktail to a glass of wine from a competitively priced wine list to a bowl of Kava shared with the friendliest staff you’ll ever meet.

Daku is an active resort with a wide range of water and land sports to choose from. Start your day with some mindful yoga; the resort offers yoga daily as well as weeklong retreats. A Diving Week at Daku is with the world-renowned Jean-Michel Cousteau Diving Centre just down the road. Dive the awesome reefs of Northern Fiji and experience the Marine Reserve at Namena Island, recently voted one of the best dive sites in the world. You’ll also see the Hammerhead Sharks at the aptly titled Dream House and have the benefit of the highly experienced Jean-Michel Cousteau team to guide and develop your diving skills. Other activities available at Daku include snorkeling, kayaking, trekking and river tubing, Open Ocean Swim Meets, plus more artistic pursuits such as writing, painting and singing. Daku is like summer camp for the entire family.

Standard Rooms

The resort has 5 single-room Ocean View Bures and 6 single Standard rooms.

Set in the lovely tropical gardens of the resort, the Ocean View Bures look out onto Savusavu Bay. The Standard Rooms are arranged side by-side in pairs with a lockable door in between. They they can be used as individual rooms – or they make an ideal family set-up.Two of the rooms look directly over the bay, and the other four are set behind and slightly above the swimming pool and look out over the grounds to the ocean.

The Beach House

The Beach House is nestled in a beautiful plantation-like setting, just steps from the ocean. It’s true island style with a large sweeping deck (you’ll practically live outside), open living room and kitchen, three bedrooms, two with en-suite bathrooms, and a third bathroom across the corridor.

The Cottage

The Cottage has three bedrooms – one with a double bed, and two rooms both with two singles – plus its own living area, kitchen and covered deck. There is one en suite bathroom and two more small separate bathrooms. All bedrooms have air-con. The accommodation is simple but ideal for a family or a group of friends, providing fantastic value for money, as it sleeps 6 people.

The Pool House

The Pool House sleeps 8 people (we can fit more at an extra charge). There are 4 bedrooms (3 of which feature en-suite bathrooms, and a fourth separate bathroom), kitchen, lounge room, and private deck. Each of the bedrooms can be accessed through the main lounge or via a private entrance, making it ideal for both families or groups. The Pool House is right next to our main pool, perfect for a swim or sunbathing at any time you want.


3-Bedroom Villas

Infinity Villa stands high up the hill with superb views over the bay. The deck and infinity swimming pool are ideal for waking to greet the morning, relaxing during the day or winding down with a cocktail in the evening. There’s a lounge and fully equipped kitchen, with air conditioning throughout.
Villa Hazel is surrounded by tropical foliage with sweeping ocean views. Smooth stone tile floors, air conditioning in each bedroom, two with ensuites, and one bathroom across the corridor. It has a lounge with kitchen that opens up to a huge deck with stunning views. At the end of the deck is your own private plunge pool and sun loungers.


Bayview Garden Villas

The Bayview Garden Villas are comfortable two-bedroom/two-bathroom water view villas with air-conditioning. Each one has its own private plunge pool. They have all the advantages of being on a resort, whilst still giving you privacy. Situated in the lush tropical gardens of Daku Resort estate, with a view out to the bay, they are just steps away from the beach where you can go snorkeling, kayaking and swimming. Each villa has a fully equipped kitchen – but if you’re feeling lazy, room service and dining options are available from the resort.

Bayview Heights Villas

Stunning vistas, private plunge pool. Your perfect getaway. The Bayview Heights Villas are nestled on 1/2 acre of terraced gardens. Each villa features a huge deck and pool overlooking a panoramic sweep of Savusavu Bay, with spectacular sunset views. The beach and access to the reef are down the steps and across the road. Each one has two large bedrooms with en-suites, and there is room for an extra bed (when needed) in the spacious sitting room. Each villa has a fully equipped kitchen – but if you’re feeling lazy, room service and dining options are available from the resort.

Daku can take you snorkeling, supply you with kayaks, direct you on a mountain hike, schedule you a relaxing spa massage, book you SCUBA diving with the local dive operators, or organize excursions to a number of nearby places – like a nearby waterfall to cool off under, a thermal mud pool, or a visit to a nearby village where you can enjoy the thunderous meke dance!

Snorkeling

Swim above the soft and hard corals, reef fish, and even the occasional turtle or grey tipped shark!

Kayaking

Take out one of our kayaks for a few hours, and take a leisurely paddle up the coast! Free use of kayaks.
