Bosque del Mar
A unique beach front property in Playa Hermosa, Bosque del Mar is a high-end boutique eco-resort. Just a short drive from the International Airport at Liberia, Bosque del Mar is perfect for families as well as couples. Set among beautiful tropical gardens, the rooms consist of twenty junior suites, six oceanfront suites with jacuzzi and six gardenview suites. There are also 3 penthouses with or without a completely equipped kitchen. The hotel offers a jacuzzi and swimming pool area, laundry service, gated parking and wireless internet access. The property is set in tasteful, tropical gardens with gentle paths winding around the resort.
Niromi is an open air semi-formal restaurant overlooking the beach. There’s also the Nya lounge bar, a modern and comfortable setting for a sundowner and nightly music. Paradise Spa, body & health center is ready to offer you the best service right on the beach or more privately in your room. The resort offers a great selection of places to visit and activities to do in Guanacaste area. Tour options are geared for nature lovers with guided trips to Palo Verde National park. To learn more about the local culture, you may pay a visit to the Guaitil arts & crafts market. Watersports include snorkeling trips, surfing lessons, jet skiing, paddle boarding and, of course, scuba diving with Rocket Frog Divers. Take a sunset catamaran cruise, join an adventurous canopy tour, go whitewater rafting or horseback riding. There’s plenty to do here or just enjoy the long stretch of beach. Junior Suites
With a delicate environment characterized by Earth tones details, full of nature around and privacy, we have 20 Junior Suites spread in two floor buildings with garden front terraces. The design of this kind of room offers a bedroom with 2 queen size beds and a bathroom, plus a separate living room with mini bar.
Less than a minute walk from the beach, our Junior Suites are a great choice for families because every two rooms are connected by a door in the terrace, so you can be in touch and close enough if you are traveling with friends or family but still keeping your privacy and own space. Terraces are also a nice detail with these rooms, each one has a garden- pool view and in some case trees are literally crossing the building due we didn’t want to just cut them down, so we adapted the structure to the tree shape and this way we cause less environmental impact. The Junior Suites are also preferred by couples, its intimacy and modern but cozy design is the perfect scenario for a romantic and relaxant stay.
Garden view Suites
Comfort, space and elegance are three factors to describe this kind of suite. Steps away from the beach, the restaurant and the swimming pool and with a really close view of our tropical gardens our six Garden View Suites offer an amazing bedroom with 2 queen beds and a living room with a pleasant sofa bed.
Garden View Suites were designed to blend modern convenience with cozy and eco friendly elements in its architecture. There is an obvious sensitivity and respect towards the surrounding environment, trying to share this with the couples, families and friends who normally stay with us at Bosque del Mar.
Ocean Front Suites
Right in front of the beach we have the new Ocean Front Suites, featuring a bedroom with 2 queen size beds, a comfortable living room with mini bar and a sofa bed, besides a spacious bathroom. Separate, a nice wooden terrace shares the amazing view with a great open air jacuzzi exclusive for each suite.
The Ocean Front Suites are surrounded by tropical gardens and the closes contact with the vibrant Pacific and scenic Playa Hermosa (Hermosa Beach), just few steps away. Technology, details and fine design are characteristics in this kind of suites, ideal for honeymooners or couples. Small families are also welcome here due the space and beds available.
Penthouse Suites
Sophistication and comfort are easily detected in our Penthouse Suites, in third floor of the main building. We have called the whole floor as NANKU (Chorotega indigenous word for “home”) because in deed the idea is making the guests feel like they are staying in their own beach house with a master bedroom suite, a next additional room, two suites, kitchen, living room and more. Main suite NYURI (“bird” in Chorotega) with terraces and open air jacuzzi, is available and individually rented with a side smaller additional room.
We also offer the opportunity of taking the Suites separately as OPOME I or OPOME II (“high” in Chorotega) which is twin Suites in the Penthouse. They can be rented together as well, with games room included and called YOKUE (“big” in Chorotega).

You can do this and a lot more in Bosque del Mar. Below, we present you a list with all these ocean activities and other tours you can take with us.
Diving
Divers must check in with Front Desk hotel in advance to reserve their dive days / Rocket Frog Divers will pick you up by boat on the hotel beach / All divers must show their certification cards in order to dive / The diver must also fill out a standard PADI waiver form and information sheet / If you are taking a dive course a medical questionnaire is required to be completed prior to taking the course (required to determine if you are medially fit for diving).
Snorkeling
We’ll whisk you off to one of a few small but nice beaches for the best snorkeling opportunities. You can expect to see moray eels, puffers, little blue fish, angel fish, as well as octopus, turtles and many other types of tropical fish.
Paddle Boarding Tour
Paddle to beautiful sand beaches, cruise the shorelines and discover little coves. The tour starts from the Playa Hermosa beach to Playas del Coco for about two hours on the sea and then return by car to the Hotel.
Sunset Sailing Tour
Pacific Ocean sunsets are not to be missed. Experience a relaxing and unforgettable sailing under breathtaking colors while enjoying great music, tropical drinks and snacks. Make sure your camera is ready for the dolphins show!
Wave Runner (Jet Ski)
Drive your own Wave Runner and feel the adrenaline by yourself during one hour in tour around Culebra Bay, Monkey Head, Palmares Estuary and Egg Caves. Maximum 2 People per Jet ski.
Sport Fishing
The Gulf of Papagayo is located at Costa Rica’s northeast corner and a few minutes away from the hotel. It’s one of the most famous places for sport fishing in the world. The gulf is home to a staggering amount and variety of fish.
Mountain Activities
Go into the mountain and discover unforgettable and astounding views. Find yourself face to face with national parks full of biodiversity and with experiences teeming with excitement and adrenaline. Mountain tours are perfect for nature, history, and excitement lovers.
Canopy Tour
This adventure will allow you to see the forest like you have never seen it before. Your adventure will begin from the top of ancestral trees, zipping across the 849 meters of cable, joined between the trees in the forest. Much like a monkey, you will move from tree to tree and hang with a harness (and safety equipment), discovering the forest from a totally different point of view. This activity not require previous experience.
Rincon de la Vieja National Park
This park is located in Guanacaste and Alajuela provinces and is part of the Guanacaste Conservation Area. It offers an active volcano (Rincón de la Vieja) in a period of relative calm, is the largest of five volcanoes that make up the Cordillera de Guanacaste. Thanks to its geography, this park host a great dry forest biodiversity as 260 bird species and several mammals as slots, monkeys, tapirs, etc.
Palo Verde National Park
For nature lovers! Come and visit Palo Verde, one of the most important and interesting National Parks in Costa Rica due its 12 different habitats within the park include: mangroves, marshes, swamp forests, saltwater marshes and freshwater marshes. Enjoy a boat trip on the river 2 hours Tempisque, watching a fabulous group of wild birds and a vast number of creatures such as howler and white faced monkeys, green iguanas and coatis, anteaters and crocodiles.
White Water Rafting
The Colorado River is a narrow river where you will pass through canyon walls as you experience water rapids, lush vegetation, wildlife and pristine isolation. Upon your arrival you will receive safety instructions and then board your 2 person raft. Class II & III.
Horseback Riding
Just thirty minutes from the hotel you can enjoy a fun horseback riding, enjoying nature in a climate and environment, passing through lovely lush dense forests. Which play host to fabulous array of exotic plants and wildlife, many rare and endangered animals and flora.
Coco Combo
Full action includes Jet Ski, Canopy and ATV around Artola River, jungles, mud, Forest sceneries and many more. The tour begins with the Jet Ski to get to Playa Panamá then take the ATV to get to the Canopy and then back in the same order and way to the Hotel.
Scuba Diving Adventure Package with Bill Beards Diving!
Costa Rica is fast becoming a hot spot scuba diving destination, particularly along its Pacific shores. From enticing shark encounters to run-ins with giant Manta Rays, Costa Rica’s volcanic pinnacles are filled with pelagic life. Divers frequently encounter sea turtles, stingrays, manta rays, moray eels, barracuda, tuna, and snapper. Schooling fish can be found on every dive site, as well as small critters like sea horses, frogfish, and harlequin clown shrimp. Sharks and dolphins are seen regularly, and humpback and pilot whales migrate twice seasonally. This package is designed to fly in and out of Liberia (LIR) International airport.
