Bunaken Oasis Dive Resort

Bunaken Oasis redefines diving in Bunaken.  Positioned very much at the luxury end of the spectrum, the resort’s aim is to provide a 5-star experience while keeping the ecological footprint to a minimum.

The resort is built on a steep hillside overlooking the mangroves on Liang Beach (don’t worry, there are gently meandering paths everywhere, so getting around the resort is easy!).

Your transfer boat from the mainland will moor at the private jetty, and you’ll enter Bunaken Oasis through the beautiful Long House.  Above the Long House is a spectacular free form infinity pool, ideal for who might choose to relax and catch some sun rather than dive.

Moving past the pool, you come to the chill-out cocktail bar, where you can enjoy a range of fine wines and spirits (and Bintang!) while you unwind beneath the stars. To the side of the bar is the restaurant, with fantastic views over the pool, Long House and out to sea, where you’ll enjoy gourmet Asian and western cuisine at breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Towards the rear of the resort is the tranquil Spa; wind down after a day’s diving by choosing a massage from the extensive menu of treatments and leave yourself in the hands of one of the fully-trained therapists.

The resort offers 12 large, traditionally-built villas, including one family villa with two bedrooms, and one villa near the Long House for those who may have difficulty walking. Whether you opt for a king-sized or twin-bed configuration, your spacious, traditionally-built villa contains everything to make your stay with exceptional: air conditioning, spacious indoor bathroom, sumptuous furniture, Dolce Gusto coffee machine, free Wi-Fi, and large balcony with stunning views

A major focal point of the resort is a free form infinity pool, with sun-loungers and easy access to the bar, for those who want to spend time above, rather than below, the water.

In addition to a chill-out cocktail bar and a full-service restaurant serving Indonesian and international cuisine, guest amenities also include an air-conditioned library, a fully-equipped classroom in the Dive Centre with 4k flat-screen TV, especially useful for photographic groups, and a spacious camera room with more charging points than you will ever need.

Diving & Snorkeling!

With easy access to over 60 superb dive sites, the variety of diving Bunaken offers is amazing: vertical walls with the sea bed 1500 metres beneath your fins, gentle walls with sandy bottoms, stunning reef tops, and muck diving on the mainland. Bunaken has it all. But what happens beneath the waves is only one part of the diving experience. At Bunaken Oasis we firmly believe that every aspect of the diving experience should reflect our focus on luxury.

Diving is from one of our brand-new, purpose-built dive boats (1 x 17 metre fibreglass catamaran and 2 x 14 metre traditional wooden boats). We have also ordered 2 more traditionally-styled wooden dive boats, to be launched later this year, as we believe that our guests will enjoy a better diving experience with smaller groups on more boats.  All our boats provide freshwater deck showers, catering facilities, WCs, and excellent facilities for photographers. However, perhaps what we’re most proud of is the space you’ll enjoy on board: each boat will carry a maximum of eight guests, and there’ll never be more than four guests to a dive guide.

There are also paddle boards & kayaks at your disposal to go off and explore!

Oasis can provide a variety of trips to encourage guests to explore the region beyond Bunaken. Whether they are visiting the rainforest, a local market or the towns and villages on nearby islands or the mainland, we encourage guests to learn more about the wonderful and colorful local environment.

The simplest way is to fly to Singapore, then Singapore to Manado; Silk Air operate flights to Manado several times a week. You will be met at Manado by an Oasis representative.  After a 30 minute drive to a port in Manado, the journey to Bunaken Oasis is about 30 minutes by boat.
Flights to Manado are available from other Indonesian and South East Asian cities with other airlines, for those guests on a multi-destination trip. All transfers to/from Manado airport from Bunaken Oasis Dive Resort and Spa are free of charge to guests.

Among the initiatives undertaken by Oasis are:

• providing the nearby village with fresh drinking water

• providing villagers with medical assistance, including emergency medical evacuation to hospital on the mainland

• offering work placements and training to the local school

• supporting all activities of BunakenCare, a local NGO dedicated to preserving the land and marine environment of Bunaken
