explora El Chalten

The village of El Chaltén is located at the foothills of Mount Fitz Roy –also known as El Chaltén– within the Los Glaciares National Park in the Argentinean Patagonia. The village has been used as a base by explorers of the mountains and landscapes that have turned this area into a favorite destination among nature lovers and hikers. Simplicity, excellence, and the importance of a deep exploration experience are the concepts embodied in explora El Chaltén.

The 20 rooms offer views to the Eléctrico Valley, the Marconi Glacier, and the area’s mountain range, perfectly anticipating the landscapes and explorations that the Argentinean Patagonia has to offer. The dining room features Argentinean Patagonia as the inspiration for the menu, offering different lunch and dinner options that fully renew on a daily basis. The cozy bar offers different local spirits and is the place to share your daily experiences with other travelers, and to plan the next day’s explorations with our guides.

The hotel provides a full spa service for our travelers to refuel their energy after a day of exploration. We have hydromassages, sauna, and a massage room especially designed to enjoy the views of our unique locations.

With the typical design of the ancient Argentinean Patagonia estancias, the comfortable rooms are thought to ensure our travelers’ deep rest. They are the perfect place to recharge batteries after a day of exploration. The hotel has 20 rooms, three of which are suites and include all the amenities you’d expect from explora.

The explorations at El Chaltén are as varied as the surroundings we are about to know. The area’s geography has towering mountains and different landscapes open to be discovered through treks, overland trips, ice hikes, and even rock climbing, depending on the preferences and skills of each traveler.

The Los Glaciares National Park, declared a world heritage site by UNESCO, will be one of the places to be explored, with vast ice fields and the world-renowned Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the few ice massifs that keeps a state of equilibrium and which amazes visitors with spectacular ice collapses. Other attractions to be discovered are the Southern Patagonia Mountain Range, Mount Fitz-Roy, the towering heights of the area, and the surroundings of the Los Huemules Natural Reserve, in addition to the Patagonia forest and its rich wildlife.
