Kilindi Zanzibar, comprising of a series of white-domed Pavilion guest rooms all set in 35 acres of lush tropical gardens, is a rarity in the world of luxury boutique hotels. Originally designed for Benny Andersson - one of the members of the 1970's pop group ABBA - Kilindi is a true blend of the very best of diverse cultures to be found in Tanzania and on its adjacent island of Zanzibar.

Kilindi achieves the perfect marriage between Scandinavian minimalism and the dramatic architectural overtones of Middle Eastern heritage, whilst encouraging an open, 'back-to-nature' ambiance throughout.

In each of the Pavilion Suites, white wooden-slatted shutters embrace wide-arched glassless windows each affording spectacular views over the Indian Ocean. This same openness allows the gentle ocean breeze to waft throughout each of the rooms and carry with it an exceptional soundtrack of Zanzibar's colourful fauna. With sights and sounds gifted by such creatures as the indigenous red colobus monkeys and the ever-present and ever-busy yellow weaver birds, any stay at Kilindi will be a delight for the senses.

Luxury Pavilion Suites
15-domed Pavilion Suites, nestling amongst a 50-acre tropical garden estate, are the perfect intimate retreats for all who come to stay at Kilindi Zanzibar.

The Pavilion Suites have their very own private plunge pool, and possess extraordinary ‘rainfall’ shower rooms that truly give the liberating feeling of being 'at one with nature'.

The beds within the Pavilions have a 'Cool Air' air con system which provides an oasis over and around the bed. The windows are glasless being instead replaced with traditional wooden shutters that allow the sea breeze to permeate throughout the room.

The Pavilion Suites complex extends to a seperate Shower Room Pavilion annex that provides a rainfall shower, his and her vanity wash basins, a toilet and affords views across the gardens to the ocean beyond.

Private Dhow Sail

Following a short 10-minute transfer arranged by the hotel, you will join the dhow crew who in turn will warmly welcome you aboard a wooden sailing dhow.

This hand-crafted dhow, constructed with the same traditional techniques that have been used for a thousand years, willl then take sail to begin what will be an undeniably memorable 2-3 hour journey along the coastline of north-west Zanzibar.

As part of this exotic and iconic experience, you will have the opportunity to snorkel in the warm and soothing ocean and admire the marine life that can be found along the Kendwa reef. Snacks and a selection be provided ahead of your return to Kilindi and your evening dinner.

Dolphin & Snorkeling tour:

Experience the beautiful Minai Bay Conservation Area whilst cruising in one of the traditional Zanzibari dhows.

Get a chance to see the dolphins, as well as swim on one of the pristine sandbanks. Your tour will also visit some of the nearby islets and provide opportinuties to snorkel at the coral reefs.

Your full-day includes snorkeling equipment with guides and instructions and a sea food barbeque with fish, calamari and slipper lobster served hot from the grill.

Island Spice Tour

Enjoy a unique chance to visit to a local spice farm on Zanzibar and see why traders from afar would travel the oceans to reach this magical isle.

A spectacular opportunity to see, smell and taste a variety of spices such as cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, black pepper, tumeric, nutmeg, and vanilla, as well as tropical fruits and tropical plants.
