Malolo Plantation Lodge

Located on the north coast of Papua New Guinea, Malolo Plantation Lodge is a serene retreat with gardens of swaying palm trees overlooking the Bismark Sea and distant KarKar volcano. ln the local dialect, Malolo means ‘rest’ and the atmosphere at this resort is all about relaxation and rejuvenation with nature. Set on a sweeping lawn and surrounded by exotic tropical foliage, the main lodge houses the restaurant, bar and comfortable lounge area. A short stroll takes you to the private volcanic beach area and freshwater swimming pool.

Malolo Plantation Lodge is a 45-minute drive North of Madang Town on a good asphalt road. Air Niugini has several daily flights between Port Moresby and Madang and the resort’s charter aircraft are available for flights to and from Mount Hagen, Ambua and Karawari Lodge.

Guests are accommodated in 14 air-conditioned rooms, each with en-suite bathroom, private balcony and stunning ocean views.

There’s much to do here if you want to be active and explore the natural and cultural beauty of this remote region. The area is alive with an unparalleled diversity of plant, animal and bird life. Off the coast, there’s a world of discovery for snorkelers, divers and anyone interested in marine ecology. You can take a trip by traditional canoe to visit an uninhabited island where you can snorkel or go for a guided nature walk. Sea kayaking excursions and scuba diving are also available here.

You may join a daily cultural tour to visit nearby coastal villages where the gentle local people live in complete harmony with their surroundings. You will learn how they use forest plants and fruits for medicinal and traditional ceremonial purposes. All tours are accompanied by knowledgeable local guides.
