Onduli Ridge

Mara Bush Camp & Private Wing are located in the heart of the famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve, surrounded by some of the best big cat sightings you will come across.  A large hippo pool is part of the Camp’s main & most delightful features!

The vast open grasslands of the Masai Mara are home to high densities of both resident and transient populations of game including lion, cheetah, leopard, elephant, rhino, giraffe, hyena and over 450 species of bird, the Masai Mara provides unrivaled game viewing throughout the year.

Mara Bush Camp is discreetly ‘tucked away’ in a riverine forest on the banks of the seasonal Olare Orok rivers.  The guest areas include a comfortable lounge & bar tent as well as a dining tent where freshly prepared meals are served.

The spacious Lounge/Bar Tent with a hand crafted bar and cozy sofa sets, serve as a meeting point, where guests can relax and enjoy a cocktail and exchange the day’s experiences before moving on to the adjacent dining tent for a delicious meal. Picnic meals are readily available for all those who prefer to stay out in the bush all day long. A unique little gift shop in this lounge offers lovely souvenirs and giveaways for travelers looking for something different to take home. The gift shop supports products locally made, organic or from self-help women projects.

The large Dining Tent is the mealtime highlight where carefully prepared meals are displayed in a colorful array of soups, salads, vegetarian & meat dishes and divine desserts.   Our head chef with his expertise in both international and African dishes will cook scrumptious meals throughout your stay for you. Our little organic vegetable garden adds to the flavors of healthy and home cooked meals! Meals at Mara Bush Camp are generally served buffet style, however, with less than 06 clients, they are pre-plated.

Mara Bush Camp is a heaven to photographers, not only because of its fantastic location but also because of a cozy photo lounge which provides photographers with working tables with fixed charging point for their equipment.  This is the ideal meeting point for photographers to exchange ideas and share their expertise regarding the world of photography. A projector and screen is available for photo workshops.

The camp fire is probably the most liked hang out place in the evenings. Set under the stars on comfortable canvas chairs, reminisce the day and the impressions on wildlife & nature. Share stories of all that you experienced whilst enjoying a cold drink and hot / cold canapés.

Ol Malaika Home
The Trust is located right on the edge of the Maasai Mara National Reserve in the little town of Sekenani.  The Olmalaika Home - is a safe haven for girls under the age of 12 yrs all the way down to newborns that have endured trauma in their lives, such as  female genital mutilation, childhood marriage, rape, incest, assault, abuse, abandonment, etc.

The Trust not only provides a safe and loving home where they can find healing, but also enable them to get their education.  On weekends and holidays you can visit the home and spend time with the girls, listen to them sing and dance, participate in a typical "day of the girl child" where you might wash clothes in the river, make chapatis, drink some tea made over the fire in their traditional manyatta or simply allow them to teach you how to make a beaded bracelet to take home.  On weekdays when they are in school, you can visit the home and meet the staff, play or feed the babies, hear about the girls stories and  possibly sample some fresh fruit or vegetable from their garden.

The Trust is dependent on donations, but are working on becoming self sustaining by harvesting and selling honey from their own hives and thru the Olmalaika Trust Days for Girls Enterprise -  where the staff make fabric reusable menstrual kits. Each kit that is purchased is given to school girls in Kenya so that no girl will miss school because of her period.
