Murex Bangka Resort
Murex Bangka is a diver’s paradise. Stepping onto the white sand beach feels like stepping into the story of Robinson Crusoe. Nestled under shady trees, the resort is built just steps away from the white sand beach and the private, crystal clear turquoise lagoon. Bangka is a beautiful lush island and one of Indonesia’s most famous dive areas. The House Reef right in front of the resort is amazing for snorkeling and diving. The secluded beach is the perfect place to sit back, laze in a hammock and watch the tide roll in.
Due to the remoteness of Murex Bangka Resort, there are no power lines connecting the resort to the mainland. The resort is powered by silent generators which run throughout the day with your dive times in mind. For your comfort during non-diving times, the silent generator runs throughout the night. In the afternoon, the restaurant has power for charging your batteries.
Murex Bangka has six ocean-front natural Minahasan style timber cottages perfectly built for two. There are also three ocean-view hotel style rooms located near the dive center. Newly completed are the two ocean-front duplex bungalows, which are the perfect combination of privacy and convenience. With adjoining rooms, you can put the kids next door and leave the double doors opened for easy access. Traveling couples looking for privacy may keep the double doors closed like you would for any other hotel room.
Sit back and relax on your spacious verandah enjoying a beautiful view of the white sand beach and ocean. Before dinner, take a relaxing hot shower under the stars in your private open air shower (hotel-style rooms include indoor shower). All rooms include air conditioning (between 5pm-7am), desk, chair, hot water showers, armoire, and a king or twin bed.
Choose from indoor or outdoor seating in the dining hall and lounge area. This is where most guests relax between dives or beach time, checking photos, identification books or just catching up with new buddies. The Beach BBQ is held right in front of the restaurant so you won’t have to walk far for the all you-can-eat smorgasbord or seafood and meats.
Deluxe Oceanview
The modern Ocean View Deluxe accommodation is strategically located on the hillside to give panoramic views over the ocean. These tastefully decorated, air -conditioned rooms offer comfortable indoor living and large verandas with built in day beds. Double and twin bed sleeping configurations are available and all Ocean View Deluxe accommodation features large, en suite indoor-outdoor bathrooms. For families and groups of friends, semi-detached options are available, allowing you to stay closer together.

Murex Bangka is the only resort on Bangka Island able to offer hot water showers and air conditioning. Electricity operates in our Ocean View Deluxe accommodation 24 hours a day (reduced to one socket from 7am to 5pm and full power throughout the night).
Oceanfront
Murex Bangka offers a choice of charming and comfortable, traditionally styled timber bungalows as well as larger duplex rooms, which have adjoining doors and are perfect for families. All rooms are ocean front with stunning views.

Power operates in the ocean front rooms from 5pm – 7am (and also in the restaurant and camera room during lunch time hours).
Dive sites off Bangka include underwater coral encrusted pinnacles rising from a sandy bottom. Some are shallow dives ranging from 5 to 25 meters while other pinnacles and reefs plunge into the ocean depths with often strong currents to contend with. Besides the abundance of hard and soft corals and numerous reef fish, some of the highlights are Pygmy Sea Horses, Cuttle Fish, Giant and Warty Frog Fish. You may also explore drop-offs with canyons where you can ‘eddy out’ of the current and observe many Sweetlips, Dogtooth Tuna, Jacks, and Sharks.

Murex Bangka is around a 60 minute car journey and 20 minute boat ride from Manado International Airport which receives flights from all major Indonesian cities including Bali and Jakarta as well as international fights from Singapore.
