Sunset House
Set on a coastal road about 3/4 miles south of George Town, Sunset House is well positioned to enjoy the beautiful Caribbean Sea with the freedom to explore the island. The accommodations vary from well- appointed Courtyard Rooms, slightly larger Ocean View Rooms & Suites and two Studio-style Apartments with full kitchens. The Resort is situated on a rocky shoreline with multiple entries for diving and snorkeling right from shore. Sunset House is 100% smoke free in all rooms.
Sunset House is an intimate, boutique “scuba diving friendly”, family owned hotel with only 36 rooms. Visitors to Grand Cayman come to Sunset House to escape the world for a while, soak up the sun, sit by the pool, make unforgettable dives and enjoy fantastic food at My Bar & Sea Harvest restaurant overlooking the sea. There are no hidden resort fees after you arrive. Free Wifi is available throughout the resort.
COURTYARD ROOMS
One of the most popular rooms for the "cost conscious". These rooms have a walk-in patio door or balcony and are available with 2 Queen beds, digital Hi Def flat screen cable TV, mini fridge, air conditioning, and private bathrooms. There are courtyard rooms above the front office area and in the garden area close to the restaurant.
OCEAN VIEW ROOMS
The Ocean View Rooms are located on the North end of the property. These rooms offer more space with 2 Queen beds or 2 King-size, digital Hi Def flat screen cable TV, fridge, microwave and a private balcony or patio looking out through the palm trees to the sparkling Caribbean Sea.
OCEAN VIEW SUITE
Part of the Ocean View blocks, Sunset House has two suites available. These spacious rooms are great if you need a little extra space. They include everything the Ocean View Rooms have to offer plus a dining & seating area. Both Suites have two queen beds.
OCEAN VIEW APARTMENT
The Apartments all have an ocean view. We have two different apartments, each with different bedroom configurations, a living room and dining room. Great for anyone that wants to make a few home cooked meals on their holidays. The Apartments also adjoin to ocean view rooms on either side for an expanded space. The Apartments are studio style, they do not have a separated bedroom area.
There are numerous snorkel and scuba diving sites accessible by boat or straight from shore, Sunset House is the ideal setting to explore or learn to explore the underwater realm. Whether you choose to snorkel or dive from our legendary reef just off shore, seek a thrill filled wreck dive, an amazing wall dive, or want to learn how to dive, Grand Cayman and Sunset Divers has a dive site for you.
This year has seen the arrival of the first of two new dive boats. Just arrived, Eagle Ray 2 is a sturdy catamaran with twin Honda 250 outboards, a top speed 32 knots and a custom-built interior. Guests can enjoy a smooth ride in her cat hull as well as any of our other 5 custom dive boats.
With an abundance of experience, the highly professional instructors offer daily morning two tank dive trips from our custom built dive boats. A choice of dive sites are accessible by boat minutes from the resort. The morning trips start with an amazing wall dive followed by a beautiful shallow reef. Our boat trips have all the amenities you would expect - towels, fruit, water & camera rinse tank and lots of personal and professional service. The boat will be crewed by 2 or 3 experienced instructors.
The morning trips depart from 8:00am each day and with our unique location on Grand Cayman we have the ability to dive where the seas are calm. We can easily dive at Northwest Point, the West Wall or Southside, whichever is more appealing for that days diving. In the afternoons, guests on dive packages can enjoy complimentary unlimited shore diving. We also offer one tank afternoon trips to the Wreck of the Kittiwake or Stingray City. Afternoon lion fish culling or a reef dive trips can also be arranged. The popular 3-tank Safari trip to the North Wall is available Wednesdays, weather permitting. The full day trip departs at 8:00am for an exciting day of diving.
