Stay in the open, single level Capella Suite, featuring timber floors, beach house inspired interiors, king or twin beds and expansive outdoor deck area with sumptuous day bed.

The Lagoon Loft is a dual level suite with king bedroom upstairs, private deck and stunning views. The lower level offers relaxed living area with daybeds and wide doors opening to an outdoor deck with daybed.

The fun and funky mezzanine suite the Makambo Loft captures the laid back seafaring spirit of Lord Howe Island with show-stopping views from the upper level king bed sleeping area with private verandahs.  Ground level living features a striking lounge with daybeds and extended decks with plunge spa for ultimate relaxation.

The superlative Lidgbird Pavilion is truly awe inspiring and perfect for a special occasion.  A generous upper level bedroom area includes wrap around verandahs to capture soul stirring ocean and mountain views. Sumptuous ground level living features banquette lounge and complimentary room bar and blends seamlessly with the private outdoor area. A plunge pool beckons, with extensive decks, luxe daybed and outdoor bathing beneath the frangipani tree. Private dining options are available and the Capella electric buggy is reserved for exclusive use.

All suites feature king beds with superior cotton linens, Bose music system, TV, DVD, telephone and wireless internet.  An in-suite bar offers locally-sourced epicurean treats. Beach towels, bathrobes and backpacks are provided along with daily housekeeping and sensory evening turndown service.

 

With Capella as a luxe base camp, take to rainforest walking tracks and explore remote rocky coves alive with magnificent birdlife or valleys brimming with ancient plants. Climb to the summit of Mt Gower, rated as one of the world’s best day walks or comb for shells on pristine white-sanded beaches.

The clear, warm Lord Howe waters are ablaze with color. Soft and hard corals, sea turtles and a riot of fish inhabit intriguing submarine cities sheltered within the reef. Kingfish, tuna and marlin cruise beyond. Take nothing but fins and snorkel or glass-bottomed boat, or dive deeper to explore the underwater world.

Capella’s resident naturalist Caitlin Woods leads guests on discovery tours of the island’s many white-sanded beaches, through subtropical rainforests and on the world’s southern-most coral reef which reveals its submarine treasures at low tide. Families can also join a range of marine tours on offer including kayaking, fishing and snorkeling with green sea turtles.
