The Royal Palm Hotel is a secluded hide-a-way nestling in the lush Miconia highland forests of Santa Cruz in the heart of the Galapagos. Designed and crafted to complement the natural environment, this is as close to nature as you can get. The native ferns and flora create a carpet of contrast and color that cover the gently sloping hills down to the coast and beyond. The resident birds include owls, Darwin Short Beak Finches, Garrapatero birds and Egrets and for the more active guests, the longest lava tunnel on the Island is a few steps from the lobby.
The Royal Palm has a total of 21 Casitas and Villas offering a wide choice of very spacious accommodations. The residences complement their natural surroundings and are designed for your comfort and relaxation. The Villas sit individually within the grounds while the Casitas are located on the Royal Fountain Circle, with verandas overlooking the Royal Palm estate. All the rooms are well appointed with custom-made furnishings and floors of mahogany wood with super-comfortable beds and the finest linens. Our rooms have everything you would expect a property of this distinction to offer including free Wi-Fi, desk, LCD flat screen TVs with 15 satellite channels, minibar, tea & coffee making facilities, safe, air-conditioning, iron and board, hair-dryer and the Villas all have a private Jacuzzi room.
The Royal Palm Restaurant and Bar is a beautiful space to wine and dine with spectacular views across the estate and out to the sea. Combining an elegant colonial style with a traditional island design, the interior reflects the glow of the open fire and on warmer nights, you may dine alfresco on the terrace under the equatorial stars.
The lodge’s team will help you plan your program of adventure and discovery. Hiking, lava tube treks, kayaking, snorkeling and biking in the Galapagos is very much an interactive wildlife experience where you will discover the flora and fauna so unique to these islands, including encounters with free roaming giant tortoises. The Galapagos has some of the best snorkeling in the world. Experience the wonders of the ocean and swim with creatures only previously encountered in an aquarium. Lobería Islet is where you can snorkel with sea lions and marine turtles. Punta Estrada has a beautiful beach surrounded by mangroves and marine birds. Canal del Amor is a “Panga” ride (local fishing boat) around the shore to observe marine birds, sea lions and wonder at the geological formation of volcanic rocks. Canal de los Tiburones is a short hike to a great spot for photographers to capture the beauty of the landscapes, lavascapes and seascapes. Playa de los Perros has colonies of Marine Iguanas. Las Grietas is one of the most important rock formations in Santa Cruz Island. On the relaxation side, the resort offers a wonderful pool and spa.
