Diving Dominica - now a PADI Dive Resort!

If you arrive at Fort Young Hotel between May and October, three of seven globally endangered sea turtle species can be seen swimming and nesting along Dominica’s shoreline. Dominica is located in the Eastern Caribbean, mid-way down the chain of Caribbean islands known as the Lesser Antilles, between the French islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique. The island has two small airports. Douglas Charles Airport (DOM), the primary airport, is located in the north east of the island near the town of Marigot. Douglas Charles Airport accommodates propeller driven and Dash Eight aircraft. Canefield Airport (DCF) is a smaller commuter airport near the capital city of Roseau. Canefield  accommodates smaller aircraft typically. It is located near the capital city of Roseau, which sits on the southwest side of the island.

Most travelers from the US to Dominica have traditionally connected on major carriers like American Airlines, Jet Blue airlines and United Airways through San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU) and continue to Dominica on a domestic carrier such as LIAT. As a result of recent flight reductions to San Juan visitors to Dominica should expand their flight search to a growing number of US connections through other Caribbean islands including Antigua (ANU), St. Lucia (SLU or UVF), St. Maarten (SXM), and Barbados (BGI) connection with LIAT or through St. Maarten by Winair (Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday) to Dominica. Since airline schedules are constantly changing casting a wide net is advisable when searching for the best flight connections. To search for flights on-line, you might try using or LIAT, Winair and other regional flights are not always updated in online flight booking systems, so if you are still unable to available find a connection, please contact us for assistance. Copa Airlines offers great connections to St.Martin from Panama and Costa Rica. Other carriers such as Spirit Airlines and Air Tran offers low priced flights to San Juan as well.
